Members and supporters of a Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee gathered at the state Capitol to unveil a quilt assembled from 11,000 contributed fabric squares, including pieces created by children and supporters outside Minnesota. The quilt represents people and communities affected by immigration detention and deportation. Organizers used the unveiling to urge the Governor to restrict cooperation between county sheriffs and federal immigration officers and said they planned to deliver petition signatures supporting that request.
